As if

In the "this person has no idea what they're talking about" file....

This article on Chip Chick (which I generally enjoy reading) claims that using a new device called DuoFertility that monitors basal temps will help you "will help you get pregnant without the expense of IVF".

Reasons why I give the article a FAIL:
  1. If the only reason a person isn't getting pregnant is timing intercourse, they don't need IVF

  2. This device costs $789, but essentially gives you the same information as a $5 basal thermometer (granted, more readings, but remember - you're not supposed to focus on individual readings but the general trend of your BBT curve plotted out)

  3. Somewhere, right now, a well intentioned friend is sending this article to someone struggling with conceiving for reasons other than timing intercourse.

What a complete joke! They will be making money off of innoscent women trying to conceive. Your BBT cannot tell you when you're most fertile, it can only confirm that ovulation has taken place. I think women that resort to IVF are beyond a timing issue.
