Sorry for the gap in posts. To be honest, life got busy. While I wish Fertility Socks was my job, it's not, it's my "hobby". Life took over for a bit, but I'm taking more control of my schedule and getting Fertility Socks back up to speed.

Some updates:

I developed a huge backlog of requests when I was short socks. I have socks now, but...
I am getting a PO Box and changing the way socks are donated.
I need new printed literature with the new address on them

So, hang on a bit. If you requested socks, I am doing my best to get them to you ASAP, I promise. Us infertile girls are good at waiting, right?

Despite their earlier announcement, Celiene Dion (note how I did not make a "greatest singer in the world!" joke) and her husband are not pregnant. It's a pain too many of us know.

Socks going out slowly

Just wanted to let everyone know that socks are still going out, but slowly - I am really limited by postage. Please know that I am trying hard to get all of the socks out ASAP. (If you get your socks and you're already pregnant, wear them to OB appointments!)

Thanks for all the generous donations - thankfully, we're not short on socks!!

Because, as anyone who doesn't have insurance can tell you - they're not cheap.

This week, husband and I will be working on another mass mailing of socks. We are backlogged a bit, but hope to make a huge dent in our waiting list.

In the "this person has no idea what they're talking about" file....

This article on Chip Chick (which I generally enjoy reading) claims that using a new device called DuoFertility that monitors basal temps will help you "will help you get pregnant without the expense of IVF".

Reasons why I give the article a FAIL:

If the only reason a person isn't getting pregnant is timing intercourse, they don't need IVF
This device costs $789, but essentially gives you the same information as a $5 basal thermometer (granted, more readings, but remember - you're not supposed to focus on individual readings but the general trend of your BBT curve plotted out)
Somewhere, right now, a well intentioned friend is sending this article to someone struggling with conceiving for reasons other than timing intercourse.

Sorry for the lack of postings, I've been deep in the throves of progesterone injections and the associated tiredness and crabbiness at the world. (Verizon's customer finance division is going to feel progesterone wrath tomorrow) Lucky for us, I planned ahead and sent out a huge amount of socks before this mess all started, and I'll be picking it up again soon!

Thought a blog might be in order to keep everyone informed about what's going on with FertilitySocks.org!

Donated socks are flowing in - thank you SO MUCH and keep them coming!

I am limited to how many socks I can send out each week by my own bank account. Postage is not cheap! I've had to set an amount that I can spend each week on postage, and I've had to stick to my budget.

So, rest assured - if you requested them, I haven't forgotten about you!!
